Vision

Kami, ang komunidad ng mga kabataan ng Parokya ng San Nicolas de Tolentino na naglilingkod, mababang loob at nananalig ay naglalayong mapalalim ang buhay espiritual at moral ng kabataan tungo sa maka-kristiyanong pamumuhay.

Mission

Sa patnubay ni San Nicholas de Tolentino na aming patron, kami ay nagtatalaga ng aming sarili sa isang matatag na komunidad at buong pusong naglilingkod sa pamamagitan ng paglalaan ng oras, pagbabahagi ng talento at kakayahan sa patuloy na paghubog ng mga kabataan at paglulunsad ng mga programang magpapalawig sa kamalayan sa pananampalataya at sa kabuuang pag-unlad ng pagkatao na kalugud-lugod sa kalooban ng Diyos.

Goal (2008-2010)

Kami ang San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Youth Council ay naglalayong makahubog ng mga kabataan na naglilingkod ng buong puso at nananampalataya sa Diyos.

Objectives

1. Nakapaghikayat ng 50% ng kabuuang bilang ng mga kabataang naglilingkod.

2. Naunawaan ang kahalagahan ng buhay paglilingkod, kabutihang asal, at natutugunan ang mga katanungan hinggil sa pananampalataya.

3. Naipadama ang pagmamahal sa bawat isa sa pamamagitan ng masiglang pagbabahagi sa sariling karanasan, kakayahan at kaalaman.

National Youth Day 2009

National Youth Day celebration was held last December 16 during the 1st day of the Misa de Gallo or the Dawn Mass for Pinoys! The celebration was officially conceptualized by then ECY Chairman Most. Rev. Rolando Tria-Tirona and the late Most Rev. Jaime Cardinal Sin of the Archdiocese of Manila.

Barangay Pastoral Council - REORGANIZED, Youth Leaders retained positions

Last October 24, 2009 the Reorganization of the Barangay Pastoral Councils took place to facilitate renewed leadership and fresh administration for those who retained their positions and newly appointment officials respectively. The Youth Cluster of the Pastoral Council did not join the reorganization though, Fr. Denis De Leon, the Parish Youth Director informed the body regarding the structured process on how Youth Leaders' term will end. the following are the names s of the Barangay Youth Coordinators of SNT Cathedral Parish:

Diocesan Pastoral Center adopts Pepeng Victims!

During the onslaught of typhoon Pepeng, many CabanatueƱos was displaced from their places and found shelter at the Diocesan Pastoral Center (the old CIC Main Campus). As a catholic virtue of extending a hand to our brothers in sisters - the Youth Leaders and Members alike flocked to the evacuation site to facilitate the feeding and addressing the needs of the people.

Slogan Winner Revealed!

Prior to the celebration of Parish Youth Day 2009! as a youth-led program in connection with the festivity of our patron St. Nicholas of Tolentine. The CENTRO voted for the winner of the Slogan-writing contest. The winning piece will be the official youth statement of the Parish Youth Council and will be receiving a special gift from Fr. Denis :). The winner for this contest was Juvy Rufo Youth Coordinator from Barangay Cruz Roja. "Kabataang may mabuting kalooban, kung maglingkod walang pag aalinlangan."

Kabataan ni San NIcolas Boboto ng Tapat: Circles for Discernment!

The St. Nicholas of Tolentine Cathedral Parish Youth Council launched the pioneer run of Circles for Discernment. The said program was a social formation program from the Diocesan Youth Commission in cooperation with Youth Vote Philippines (a non-government agency engaged in educating the people on how to vote responsibly.) The program was participated in by different youth leaders from the member barangays of SNT-PYC as well as the centro.

SNT PYC co-hosted CLRYM Fellowship Feast!

Last August 22, 2009 the St. Nicholas of Tolentine Cathedral Parish play host to Central Luzon Regional Youth Ministry's Fellowship and Meeting. Rev. Fr. Elmer I. Mangalinao the Parish Priest of SNT at the same time the Vicar General of the Diocesan Clergy treated the Regional Youth Ministers over at Breakfast. We would like to thank the presence of the Cruz Roja Barangay Youth Council as they welcomed our visitors with their fabulous renditions of Marian songs.

SNT PYC Attended I am Juan / AKO MISMO Launching

Last August 8, 2009 Youth Leaders/Ministers of the St. Nicholas of Tolentine Cathedral Parish attended the Social Transformation youth gathering hosted by the I am Juan Movement, a Social Action group organized by the Diocesan Youth Director Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Alarilla and the AKO MISMO Campaign also for Social Action in Araullo University Gymnasium.

Almost 5,000 youth leaders, community leaders alike attended and participated in on all of the Advocacy Programs of the event, including the following: Gawad Kalinga Build, Red Cross Blood Letting, Tree Planting, Brigada Eskwela, Feeding Program, Orphanage Visitation, Prison Visitation, and many more.

The event's highlight was the selling of AKO MISMO DOg Tags and other merchandise.

SNT-PYC celebrates 16 years of existence

Last July 4, 2009 SNT-PYC marked its 16th years of existence in the service of the young people under the parochial jurisdiction of St. Nicholas of Tolentine. This year's theme: Celebrating 16 years of Commitment and Humble Service undescores the charity of the youth toward attainment of development and formation in character as catholics.

SNT-PYC attended Diocesan Closing of Paulinian Year!

Last June 29, SNT-PYC attended the closing of Paulinian Year in St. Paul the Apostle Parish Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija. The highlight of the event was the street dancing and procession in which SNT-PYC's Street Dancers were invited to performed in the diocesan event.

After the procession and street dancing, holy mass was celebrated by no other than Most Rev. Sofronio A. Bancud, SSS, DD Bishop of the Diocese of Cabanatuan together with the Clergy.




Wash & Donate: SNT-PYC's Carwash Service

To defray the expenses of youth activities of the council, SNT-PYC's new Income Generating Project after the blockbuster hit "Ang Store Namin" was born. Wash & Donate is a Carwash Service for Parishoners and others who need the service. The carwash charge was set to a minumim of Php 20 per vehicle.

SNT-PYC's Unang Hakbang First ever in the Diocese!

Last June 18-21, 2009 The Parish Youth Councils of St. Nicholas of Tolentine Cathedral organized the premier Formation for the youth nowadays: The Unang Hakbang: the Kalakbay Formation program in Bishop Vicente Reyes Catholic Center, Maria Assumpta Seminar.

The said formation program was facilitated by Central Luzon Regional Youth Ministry UH Facilitators and the National Secretariat for Youth Apostolate.

For the record, SNT-PYC was the first to conduct the said formation program( in a parochial basis) here in our diocese and in the regional set-up or who knows perhaps even in the Philippines :)
